LOCATION: Tuvalu is in Oceania, they are an island group consisting of nine coral atolls in the South Pacific Ocean, about one-half of the way from Hawaii to Australia. Tuvalu is the second-least populated independent country and the fourth smallest country in the world.

ECONOMY: Tuvalu has a very poor economy with almost no natural resources, and its main form of income consists of foreign aid. Subsistence farming and fishing remain the primary economic activities, particularly off the capital island of Funafuti. Government revenues largely come from the sale of stamps and coins, fishing licenses and worker remittances.
